A professional is someone who gets paid to do something. And yesterday, my first web development client paid my invoice. So I became a professional! I charged a very low fee because I just wanted to get my first paid project done. The client wanted a simple website to display the menu items for their restaurant, and a way for clients to contact them via email. All content and images were supplied by the client.
Here's the website: http://www.thaihana99.com/
I'm so excited that this is done. I learned very quickly that specifics need to be discussed upfront so that I don't waste time making changes later that I should've known about sooner.
My strategy to get more clients faster is to have my next web development client pay me via a freelance site and give me a good rating. This will help build my reputation on the site faster, and hopefully bring me business without having to prospect so much.
Update on 2/1/2018: I visited this site today, and my design has been replaced with a new one. I'm sad. But at least I got paid, and there will be more clients.
