Being in school took up so much of my time! But I graduated this month with an Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems, and new skills! Besides Javascript, HTML, SQL and CSS, I also taught myself how to edit and create Wordpress themes (thanks to Wordpress Website Design for Dummies). So now I'm working on building my experience and website design business.
I've secured a part-time job doing some ecommerce work, but its mostly data file editing and occasional HTML/Javascript work. I've been applying to web design jobs but haven't gotten any callbacks. So either my portfolio sucks or these companies are really hiring. Doesn't matter to me though because businesses still need websites built, and I'm working on two potential jobs. My original idea was to build sites from scratch. But then I realized that building websites with Wordpress would be better so that's what I'm starting with.
I secured a domain name months ago but finally got the content up today. Now I just need to link samples and I'll be able to promote my business. I should have all the samples uploaded by Friday. Can't wait to get this rolling!
